This presidential election is becoming a yearlong festival of inappropriate words and deeds  they’re coming almost too fast to keep track of. Sen. John McCain’s campaign scored a biggie by sending out a fund-raising letter topped with a photo of him and Gen. David Petraeus.

Wilson, Plame, make room for McClellan
No, Perino, unfortunately the McClellan you knew was a Bush-Cheney-Rove true believer. That made McClellan a compliant stooge, which is just what the powers that be in the Bush White House wanted. McClellan is indeed disgruntled about having been set up, used and abused, with his credibility and reputation forever damaged. Perino, especially, ought to think carefully about McClellan’s situation in terms of her own future.
Better not wear a black-and-white scarf
Accept as an index of how hard up and demented right-wing-extremist bloggers are that they’ve gone after Rachael Ray and Dunkin Donuts over a scarf. Seriously  who could make this stuff up?
Live by the Bush, die by the Bush
A key consideration is that Bush is seen as still able to bring in big donations. There is a potential downside, however. A question for you while we’re busy
With an extensive home-improvement project under way here at Oh!pinion headquarters, posting will be spotty if at all through Saturday. Our small complement of readers has shown little enthusiasm for open threads, so we’ll post a question and look forward to your response.
McPander hits Obama’s Cuba policy
Reporters should grill McCain on the irrational double standard applied by the U.S. to Vietnam and China’s communist regimes, both of which enjoy thriving trade and normal relations with the U.S. Reporters should do that, but being heavily biased toward Sen. Flip-flop McPander, they probably won’t.

Tragic news out of Boston this morning, that Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., has a malignant brain tumor. Kennedy, 76, suffered a seizure and was airlifted from his Hyannis home to Boston’s Massachusetts General Hospital Saturday morning.
